The stack
One dose of each, once daily.
Multivitamin (Centrum Adult)
1 tablet daily · broad-spectrum synthetic multi
- • Delivers ~100% RDA of most vitamins and a modest mineral panel. Baseline insurance, not therapeutic dosing.
- • Uses cyanocobalamin (B12) and folic acid rather than methylated forms — a real limitation for the ~30–40% of adults with reduced MTHFR activity.
- • Iron in the adult formula (18 mg as ferrous fumarate) will compete with your zinc, magnesium, and calcium in the same window.

Collaborative support — how these nutrients work together
NAC + MSM
sulfur / glutathioneNAC provides cysteine (rate-limiting for GSH synthesis); MSM provides bioavailable sulfur for downstream sulfation reactions and connective tissue.
Benefit: Complementary sulfur donors that both feed the glutathione pathway — the body's master antioxidant system.

Redundancies to review
B-vitamins (folate, B12, B6, biotin)
Centrum, Thorne Basic B, and Hi Biotin all deliver overlapping B-vitamins. Thorne's methylated forms make Centrum's folic acid + cyanocobalamin redundant (and inferior for MTHFR variants). Hi Biotin's 5 mg dwarfs the biotin in both.
Suggested action: If you're taking Thorne Basic B for the active forms, Centrum becomes largely redundant on the B-vitamin front. Keep Hi Biotin only if a clinician set a specific target — otherwise it's overkill.

Breakfast (with food)
- • Centrum multivitamin — fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and beta-carotene absorb far better with dietary fat.

Things to review
Iron ↔ zinc / magnesium / calcium timing conflict (Centrum)
The 18 mg iron in Centrum competes for the same intestinal transporter as zinc, calcium, and magnesium. Since Centrum contains all four, absorption of each is partially blunted. Consider an iron-free multi if iron isn't clinically indicated for you.
Magnesium oxide is likely the weakest link in your stack
Biotin will distort your lab work
Ashwagandha + thyroid
Nothing is targeting omega-3 status
